Danielle | Bridal Photography | Eastern State Penitentiary

June 8th, 2009

Danielle and I have worked together before. She’s a wonderfully talented dancer, actress and model and I’ve always enjoyed working with her. That said, she thought I was completely nuts when I suggested that doing a bridal session at Eastern State Penitentiary was a good idea. She later admitted that she thought weddings or anything bridal just didn’t seem like a good mix with a prison that is quite possibly more notorious today than it was when it was opened. But I needed to prove a concept and I really thought she was the right person to help me do that. Thankfully she trusted me. All in all we ended up with hundred of good solid images and I’m hoping my future couples see these images and…well… trust me to do their bridal portraiture there in the future.

I can’t take full credit for this idea. It’s not original. In fact, I joined Cliff Mautner there during his Lighting Bootcamp last year. I have now been there about once every two months or so since. Some of the images that scroll at the top of this blog are from there.

If you are one of my couples and are interested in booking your engagement, bridal or “Trash the Dress” session at ESP, please get in touch with me right away. Every time I’m there I see new and interested spots to use. The texture and light is simply amazing.

Trust me. :-)

For the Brides… The Cotton Brides (You know who you are)

January 26th, 2009

Are you still looking for the perfect dress for that outdoor wedding in the heat of the summer months?  Looking for something a little less traditional, more comfortable and ecco-friendly,  but still elegant?  I just found this designer  and thought I’d share this with some of my own summer brides.

A dress that’s made for summer, is ecco-friendly and are just stunning really, deserves a look, I think, no?

The Cotton Bride by designer, Chris Kole, has stunning cotton dress options for the bride and her party. For the bride that wants to be STUNNING and COMFORTABLE. Did we mention ecco-friendly? Yeah…. Smart and sensible never looked so good.

Only have a minute and want some quick links to images that might make you swoon like I did?  Take look at this one.  And this one too.
If you end up going with a Chris Kole Cotton Dress, please drop a line here for the rest of us who really want to hear your thoughts, especially after you’ve worn it for your special day!
