No dresses were injured in the making of these images. Well not much.
This couple contacted me awhile back about some Post Bridal work I’d done at Eastern State Penitentiary. When Amber told me their story about how they’d gotten married in Niagara Falls and that their wedding photographer didn’t show, it broke my heart. I was more than happy to oblige their whimsical nature and rock that frock at ESP with them!
And that we did.
She met with my hair and makeup artist prior to our shoot and she looked stunning. I mean really stunning. Sam is one of those guys you instantly like when you meet. That was they case with me. He had me laughing the entire time we traipsed through Philadelphia. Our afternoon together started inside the prison then we meandered to some of my favorite corners to photograph subjects.
Eastern State Penitentiary always delights me with the way the light plays off the subjects and how it offers such dramatic views of this historical land mark. Closed in 1972 it remains as notorious today as it was when it was still a working prison. Famous prisoners included Al Capone and today you can see his cell, and just how the prison gave certain privileges to this oft idolized mobster.
Although ESP is not the first place some folks think of for romantic backdrops it always ends up being just that. Everyone leaves with the same feeling. There’s just something extraordinarily beautiful about a bride and groom celebrating their love amongst ruins.
I am tickled pink to share this most recent session with you. Please meet Amber and Sam. Congratulations you two crazy wonderful people! May your life always be blessed together and may you always find your love, even amongst the ruins!

Wonderful job!! I think I love the 4th image best. Window light is awesome!!
Great Job Shari! I absolutely love how warm the photos feel — the shot of Amber staring out the window (3rd down) is amazing.
These are some really warm tones! I love it
Wow, awesome job! I love the warm lighting in these.. ESP makes for such amazing romantic photos (in a weird way).
Im digging the window image as well. What a great dress.
Great work, Shari. I like the one of her at the window (3rd down) a lot.
It breaks *my* heart to hear their original photographer didn’t show, and at Niagra Falls at that! Still, you’ve provided them with a fantastic visual remedy Shari!
Great work, I can’t wait to see more, keep posting images as they become available. Overall I like the first photo with the pillars with the Bride and Groom in a pose as if ready to dance.
Wow. Why did the photographer not show? That’s horrible.
At least they have some awesome photos of them in their wedding gear. Nice job.
The warm tones in the photos are a very nice touch, nice location, beautiful images. Well done!

Very nice portraits of the bride and groom. I’m loving the warm tones and it especially works for the shot of the bride with her faced up to sun. I feel the warmth too! Good work.

The third one of her sitting by the window is just stunning! Beautiful work.
Oh I can’t imagine anything more upsetting than having the photographer not show up to my wedding…well, perhaps my husband not showing up
But how completely heartbreaking.
You’ve created some truly stunning images for them here, though, Shari, I imagine they’re delighted with them!
